As an anaesthetic nurse, you are an integral part of the operating theatre team surrounding the patient. We support all surgical departments, which means a wide variety of operations and procedures, as well as different types of anesthesia and analgesia. We work with both emergency and elective activities. You also participate in acute medical interventions outside the operating department, such as ambulance transports, emergency alerts, and trauma alerts.

We have individual scheduling and staff the department around the clock, meaning working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and night. You will receive an individual introduction tailored to your previous experience.

About You

You are a registered nurse with specialist training in anesthesia care. In your profession, you have the patient in focus and are therefore flexible in thought and action, able to make quick decisions and act safely in acute situations. You are an important part of the team around the patient and collaborate well with others. We value a good work climate through good treatment, respect, and understanding for each other. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Your Future Workplace

Central Operation is part of the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Kalmar County Hospital. We are approximately 100 employees serving the specialties of general surgery, urology, gynecology, obstetrics, ENT surgery, dentistry/oral surgery, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. We participate in emergency alerts at both the pediatric and adult emergency departments, at trauma alerts, are part of the CPR team called to cardiac arrests in the hospital, and are responsible for inter-hospital transport of critically ill patients to and from specialist clinics at other hospitals. We perform approximately 8,000 anesthetics per year.

Kalmar County Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an acute care hospital with specialist care, maternity care, and neonatal care. Over 2,300 people work here to provide good care and high patient safety to the county's inhabitants.
