What We Offer

The Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic at Linköping University Hospital, including the Burn Centre, is part of the Sense Centre within Region Östergötland. The clinic provides highly specialized care in hand surgery, plastic surgery, and burn care, serving national, regional, and county healthcare needs. The catchment area for regional care covers the South-Eastern Healthcare Region with approximately one million inhabitants. The clinic operates within inpatient, outpatient, and day surgery services, handling approximately 18,000 patient visits per year. The clinic holds three National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) assignments in burn care, gender dysphoria, and facial palsy, and employs around 130 staff members. Our goal is to provide care of the highest international standard. To achieve this, we work with the patient at the center, in multidisciplinary teams, with a strong focus on evidence-based care, quality, and patient safety. Our operations are characterized by a flexible working approach, dedicated staff, and active research and development.

Job Description

As a Perioperative Nurse (Operating Room Nurse), you play a central role in the surgical team and actively contribute to good collaboration with colleagues. Our workplace is characterized by engagement, curiosity, responsibility, and respect – both for the patient and for each other. We work in a person-centered manner and place great emphasis on quality and patient safety.

The role involves both outpatient work and day surgery within hand and plastic surgery. Telephone advice and planning the waiting list for the outpatient clinic are included in the nurse's administrative duties. There are opportunities for competence development and taking responsibility for a specific specialty area.

We offer a personalized introduction to ensure you have the best possible start in your new role. The position is daytime hours, Monday to Friday.

About You

You are a registered nurse with specialist education in perioperative care.

Previous experience in hand and plastic surgery is considered an asset.

You are creative, take responsibility for your work, are structured and meticulous, and thrive in a varied work pace. You have good teamwork skills, listen well, and communicate constructively.

As you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other units, it is a requirement that you have good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. You must also be able to handle various IT systems to perform daily care tasks.
