District Physician/Specialist in General Medicine for Strömsund Health Center and Primary Care Unit

Strömsund Health Center welcomes a district physician/specialist in general medicine who wishes to contribute to the development of our health center and Primary Care Unit (Näva). Take the chance at this unique opportunity that is not available anywhere else in Jämtland!

Primary care is in an exciting phase of development with a focus on close care and the development of distance-independent care. To create better conditions for collaboration, we have established a new joint organization for primary care and ambulance services: Close Care. This development means that we will be able to work more easily together in multidisciplinary teams, using changed working methods that are more based on people's needs and conditions.

There is a strong focus on developing the transition to close care together with other health centers, private healthcare providers, and municipal operations. We share a common vision and mission to provide the county's residents and visitors with better health and care.

The health center, with approximately 5,000 registered patients, has fresh and purpose-built premises. Here we offer both emergency and booked clinic visits. Adjacent to the health center is the Primary Care Unit (Näva), which we operate together with the municipality. Those of us working at the health center are constantly working to offer our patients the best care, with the patient's best interest at the forefront.

Do you want to be part of this development journey, contribute your expertise, develop our health center, and become part of our wonderful team? We warmly welcome your application!

Job Responsibilities

For this unique position, we are looking for you who are a specialist in general medicine, where experience from working in home healthcare and special housing is meritorious.

The Primary Care Unit, Näva, in Strömsund is located adjacent to Strömsund Health Center. Näva is a rural care unit with patients in both inpatient care and municipal short-term care, giving you a good overview of the entire care chain. Here, nurses and assistant nurses work together around the clock, along with rehabilitation staff, doctors, unit manager, janitors, and caretakers. Näva has a small work group that works closely together at a significantly lower pace compared to conventional inpatient care.

At Näva, we treat patients, the majority of whom are elderly and often multi-morbid, with varying needs for nursing and medical interventions. We treat patients in all specialties except pediatrics. Common diagnoses include, for example, heart failure, cancer, various types of fractures, and infections.

In both forms of care, we treat individuals in need of palliative care in various stages. Palliative care is Näva's specialty, with collaboration with the Palliative Care Unit in Östersund and Storsjögläntan.

The position comprises approximately 40% work at Näva, where there are great opportunities for developing the operations. The remaining 60% of the position is based at Strömsund Health Center. Here, there is an opportunity to tailor a position with tasks that suit you specifically. This could be, for example, 20% Child Health Center (BVC), 10% Maternal Health Center (MVC), 20-60% work as the responsible physician for special housing, regular clinic work at the health center with your own patient list. For example: if you work 60% at the clinic, this corresponds to 660 patients. Remote work opportunities are available.
