The Care and Elderly Services Administration now offers a unique opportunity to obtain a permanent position with salary during your full-time studies to become a nurse assistant. A secure choice for you who truly want to make a difference.
As an employee in elderly care, you study full-time to become a nurse assistant. During the education period, you have a permanent position as a care assistant. After you have completed the education and received approval for the application for protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/skyddad-yrkestitel-for-underskoterska/information-om-skyddad-yrkestitel/), you will be offered a permanent position as a nurse assistant.
In your upcoming role as a nurse assistant, you are responsible, together with your colleagues, for meeting the individual's specific needs for good care and a meaningful everyday life. This may, for example, involve care tasks such as assistance with mobility, personal hygiene, household chores, and medical interventions. It also includes providing emotional support with daily living and social activities, as requested.
You are part of a team with other professionals such as specialist nurse assistants, nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. Collaboration also takes place with other healthcare institutions and with relatives. On delegation from licensed personnel, you will perform medical healthcare and rehabilitative work efforts.
The work is planned, documented, and closely monitored. As a nurse assistant, it is therefore very important that you document well in the operational systems available at the workplace. Digitalization is an important future issue for us, and we work with various digital tools to increase the independence of our users, but also to create more efficient working methods. We work, for example, with digital supervision, web-based planning support, and mobile documentation. As an employee, you have good opportunities to influence this development together with us!

Elderly care is facing a major change. The elderly population is increasing, which means that more elderly people need care and support. Together with new technology and improved collaboration with other healthcare institutions, we aim to provide our elderly with care of the best possible quality. To meet the need while maintaining good quality, we need more people with the right competence. Do you want to be part of creating the future of elderly care in Linköping?
The education that gives you a nurse assistant diploma is conducted via Linvux over approximately three terms, including practice. We offer a total of 30 places. The education starts in week 33, but there is an opportunity to start employment earlier to work at a care home during the summer until the education begins.
You have a permanent position as a care assistant. You have a manager who will be there to support you both during the education and the practice. After completing your studies, you will be assigned a placement at a care home. The education has summer and Christmas breaks, during which you will work as a care assistant in one of our operations.
You who apply
We are looking for you who have at least 1800 approved upper secondary school credits, including the courses Swedish 1/Swedish as a Second Language 1 (100 credits), and Social Studies 1 (50 credits). You also have work experience from a profession involving contact with people, for example, childcare, retail, the restaurant industry, care and elderly services, or service. We also see that you have an interest in people, the elderly, as well as care and elderly services.
Work in elderly care involves a lot of contact with users and documentation, which means that it is a requirement that you can communicate orally and in writing in Swedish. You have good computer skills and the ability to use digital tools in your work.
As a person, you are self-reliant and take responsibility for your tasks and drive your work and studies forward. You work well together with other people and listen and communicate clearly. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability, meaning you can put yourself in others' perspectives and situations. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and see opportunities in change. You bring enthusiasm, energy, and joy to the work and influence both the direction of discussions and other people's motivation. You are proud of your job.
