We are now looking for a Safety Technician for LKAB Malmberget's fire operations service. Apply today!
The most important job of the future
We want to lead the transition of our industry towards a sustainable future. Just as we want to change the world, we want to develop everyone who joins us on this journey, both personally and professionally. Do you want to help shape the future of the world's mining and mineral industry?
Your role
As a Safety Technician, you will primarily work with maintenance, installation, commissioning, and servicing of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, gas extinguishing systems, and to some extent intrusion alarms. Additionally, you will perform troubleshooting and provide recommendations for corrective actions. The tasks are largely carried out at LKAB's facilities both above and underground, as well as at LKAB's facilities in Luleå a few times a year. In this role, you will build a broad network both internally within LKAB Malmberget and externally within the industry. Do not hesitate to apply if you currently work as an electrician or technician and are interested in learning a new field.
We believe in you and your capacity, giving you both trust and freedom to develop and grow. There are great opportunities for competence development in this area, and certification according to the standard for authorized fire alarm engineers may be relevant in the long term. Since LKAB has its own industrial fire brigade, another development area for this role is the possibility of joining the internal industrial fire brigade in the future; therefore, it is desirable that you meet the medical and physical requirements equivalent to those of a firefighter.
What you bring with you
We are looking for someone with a strong safety mindset, who maintains good order and is a meticulous installer. You thrive in a role with autonomy where you are responsible for planning your time effectively based on the assignment, but you also function well working in a team.
In addition, we expect you to have:
- A secondary education is required, with a focus on electricity, control & regulation, or automation, or equivalent experience
- Category B driver's license
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
The following qualifications are meritorious:
- Some years of experience as an electrician or technician within fire alarms
- Experience from work with alarm installations is meritorious
- Familiarity with the facilities in LKAB Malmberget's industrial area and/or LKAB's facilities in Luleå
Warmly welcome with your application!

Instead, we ask you to answer questions related to the specific position you are applying for. Your answers help us understand your competence and experience, so take the time to answer as clearly and thoroughly as possible.
