Primary Care Centre Östergötland consists of 33 region-run health centers, Vårdcentrum Finspång, the Child Health Care Unit, evening and weekend 1177 and emergency centers, and the General Medical Education Center. Region Östergötland's Specialist Training (ST) in General Medicine is organized by the General Medical Education Center (AMC), where study directors and education secretaries coordinate side studies, arrange courses and training, and participate in shaping the ST doctor's education plan. Vårdcentralen Nygatan is located in central Linköping, close to everything the city center has to offer. The health center is one of 33 region-run health centers in Primary Care Centre and has approximately 10,700 registered patients with a diverse age distribution. In addition to the doctor's clinic and child health care center, the health center features various specialist nurse clinics, counseling services with different competencies, a rehabilitation coordinator, and a dietitian. We generally have good staffing and a good work climate, with currently around 42 employees. We work together for professional care of our patients within the primary care mandate. In December 2026, the health center will move to completely new premises. These premises will offer opportunities for developed methods and working approaches, promote enhanced collaboration between professional groups, and ensure good workflows.

Job Description

Your primary placement is at Vårdcentralen Nygatan. The ST position is a permanent employment at the health center where you hold your post. Initially, there will be a lot of patient consultations at the unit, but after initial training, you will also work with both Child Health Care (BVC) and Special Housing (SÄBO). You will also be responsible for your own patient list. Some on-call duty is included in the assignment. Supervision of students is also part of the role.

About You

You are a licensed physician holding a medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare. You have Swedish language skills corresponding to documented level C1, as you must be able to communicate freely with patients, relatives, and colleagues. If you have not completed your Internship (AT) or have not passed Basic Competence (BT) according to BT standards, there is an opportunity to complete BT during the first year of employment.

You have good cooperation skills and can plan, organize, and prioritize in your work. You can handle working under sometimes pressured conditions, have good judgment, and communicate clearly. We want you to be unpretentious, enjoy working in a team, and contribute to a positive work climate at the unit. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You should have a development focus, drive, and an interest in being a contributing part in creating the primary care of the future. You thrive in a dynamic environment where you can help develop the operations with the rest of the team at the health center. You are engaged, have a professional attitude, and an interest in developing various issues related to Primary Care.
