Situated on the old herring island of Klädesholmen off the coast of Tjörn, Salt & Sill is surrounded by the salty rocks and skerries of Bohuslän. We are Sweden's first floating hotel and one of the west coast's most appreciated archipelago destinations, offering a hotel, conference facilities, and a restaurant – right at the pier's edge.
Our operations have been run under the current management since the early 2000s, characterized by a strong passion for food, people, and hospitality. The proximity to the sea and local ingredients permeates both our menus and the guest experience. We are a seasonal business with a high pace during parts of the year, where collaboration, responsibility, and engagement are crucial for the whole.
About the PositionWe are now looking for more à la carte chefs for our kitchen team ahead of the summer season. The position primarily covers the period from April to September, with the possibility of extension even after the season ends. Working hours vary throughout the period and are scheduled on weekdays and weekends, during both day and evening shifts.
How We Describe the RoleAs an à la carte chef with us, you work in a professional and engaged kitchen team with the sea as your nearest neighbor. This role suits you if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong foundational craft, and want to be part of creating dining experiences where quality, ingredients, and the overall concept are central. We work with local and coastal ingredients and have a clear focus on constantly developing our kitchen and menu.
Your ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you are responsible for preparing and cooking dishes according to the menu and set quality standards. You ensure that every dish maintains a high level in terms of taste, presentation, and execution. The work involves close collaboration with the rest of the kitchen team to create an efficient workflow and a good working environment. You contribute ideas and development to the menu and handle ingredients and stock with a focus on quality, structure, and sustainability.
Who We Think You AreWe believe you have at least six years of experience working as an à la carte chef or in a similar role. You possess solid professional knowledge, are confident in your craft, and have the ability to deliver high quality even under pressure. You are creative, solution-oriented, and have an eye for detail. Collaboration is second nature to you, and you contribute to a professional and positive atmosphere in the kitchen. You must be able to communicate in both Swedish and English at work.
