About the Role

Are you a trained archivist with a strong interest in organizing and cataloging historical documents? Then we have an interesting assignment for you!

ArkivIT is currently seeking, on behalf of a client, 2–3 archivists to organize and catalog a large volume of documents prior to submission to the National Archives. Our client is a government agency with premises in Umeå. The materials are to be removed and archived because the agency is merging with another agency.

The material consists primarily of paper documents, but also includes older photographic material and other historical artifacts that require careful handling.

The work takes place on-site in Umeå. The assignment starts immediately or as agreed, and runs until September 15, 2026. After that, an extension may be possible, or new assignments via ArkivIT can be discussed, provided all parties are satisfied with the collaboration.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who are trained as an archivist at the university or college level and have experience working as an archivist. You have a good understanding of how to organize and catalog according to general archive schemes. Experience handling older museum artifacts is a plus.

As a person, you are orderly, meticulous, have a high service level, and an attentive approach.
