About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Developer/Development Engineer who wants to help develop the next generation of Lindinvent's products within ventilation and building automation. This is not a role for someone who only wants to sit and draw in CAD, but for someone who wants to be involved all the way from idea and concept to prototype, verification, improvement, and production adaptation. The role is about developing smart, robust, and manufacturable products where mechanics, function, usability, and production are interconnected.

Here, you will become part of the development work on everything from ventilation products and dampers to boxes, enclosures, holders, sheet metal parts, and other mechanical solutions included in our systems. The work involves both new development and further development of existing products. This means you need to think both creatively and practically – see opportunities, test ideas, solve problems, and turn them into functional designs that can be produced.

Tasks and Working Methods

The role involves mechanical development with a clear focus on ventilation products and related technical solutions. The work includes developing new products and product improvements, designing in CAD, building prototypes, testing ideas, and quality-assuring designs before they move to production. It is about developing products that not only work technically but are also reasonable to manufacture, assemble, and further develop over time.

The working method is practical and solution-oriented. You are expected not only to design on screen but also to work with prototypes, simpler workshop-related tasks, 3D printing, and other ways to quickly test if an idea holds up in reality. The role therefore requires both design skills and a clear "inventor and problem-solver perspective." In many cases, it is about taking an idea, a need, or a problem and gradually working out a better solution – sometimes by improving an existing product, sometimes by thinking completely new.

You work closely with development, production, and other technical functions in the company. The role also involves contributing to a more thoughtful production mindset in the designs, so that the products become not only functional but also production-adapted. It is an important part of the role to understand how choices in the design affect manufacturing, cost, quality, and the possibility for further industrialization.

What We Are Looking For

We believe you have experience in mechanical design and product development in an environment where products are taken from idea to finished solution. You may have worked as a mechanical designer, product developer, development engineer, or in a similar role where you combined design, technical understanding, and practical problem-solving. Experience from ventilation products, HVAC, energy, sheet metal, enclosures, air terminals, dampers, or other related products is advantageous, but the most important thing is that you have worked with real products that need to work in reality and can be produced in volume.

It is an advantage if you have an understanding of how products are manufactured, for example within sheet metal processing, bending, tooling, plastic parts, or other production-oriented design. We also believe you have strong technical drive and enjoy developing smart solutions rather than just managing established ways of working. Experience weighs heavier than exact educational background, and we believe you need to have worked for a few years to thrive and succeed in the role. This is likely a role for someone who has built both technical confidence and practical judgment over time.
