Boqueria Göteborg opened in 2020 and is located at Götaplatsen in the heart of Gothenburg. The dining hall is integrated into our open kitchen, creating a lively atmosphere inspired by tapas bars in London and Madrid. The bar delivers a wonderfully atmospheric environment in the evenings. During the summer season, we also have a large outdoor terrace offering a delightful Mediterranean vibe.
Do you enjoy people, a fast-paced environment, and creating memorable guest experiences with a focus on drinks? We are looking for an engaged Bar Manager who wants to lead and develop our bar operations in a dynamic restaurant environment.
The Role As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our bars and lead a team of bartenders and waitstaff. You will plan work schedules, ensure a high level of service, manage the drink selection, and train and coach staff in both beverage knowledge and guest interaction. The role involves close collaboration with the kitchen and other serving staff to create a holistic experience for our guests, as well as responsibility for ordering, receiving goods, and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the bar team, including scheduling, onboarding, and continuous training
Establish and maintain routines for service, drink recipes, and workflows at the bar
Be responsible for purchasing, inventory management, and cost control for the beverage section
Ensure quality and presentation of cocktails, wine service, and beer
Maintain order, safety, and hygiene routines in accordance with laws and company policy
Participate in menu and drink development as well as campaigns to increase sales and guest satisfaction
Handle customer inquiries and contribute to a positive guest experience during busy periods
We are looking for someone who Has several years of experience in the bar or restaurant industry, preferably in a leading or coordinating role. You are confident in leading staff, have good beverage knowledge, and an interest in cocktails, wine, and beer. Previous experience with inventory, ordering, and cost control is an asset. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are service-oriented, and have the ability to create a good working environment and coach colleagues towards development.
Requirements
Several years of experience in bar or restaurant work
Documented experience in leading or coordinating staff
Good beverage knowledge and experience working with cocktails, wine, and beer
Experience with inventory management, ordering, and cost control
Good communication skills in Swedish and English
Flexibility regarding working hours; evenings, weekends, and peak seasons apply
You are Structured, responsible, and stress-resistant. You have a positive leadership style, are pedagogical in your approach, and are motivated by creating strong teams and satisfied guests. You communicate well with both colleagues and guests and actively contribute to a safe and professional working environment.
