As a veterinarian at Kronfågel, you will play a key role in ensuring good animal health, high animal welfare, and stable production throughout the entire value chain. You will work closely with our contracted growers and collaborate with colleagues in production, hatcheries, slaughterhouses, and quality assurance.
The role is characterized by proactive work, knowledge sharing, and continuous development, where you contribute to strengthening Swedish chicken production – with a focus on animal welfare, sustainability, and food safety.

Your Main ResponsibilitiesProvide qualified veterinary advice and support to Kronfågel's contracted chicken growers
Work proactively and preventively on animal health, disease control, and biosecurity
Monitor flock health, animal welfare, and production results, and initiate and drive improvement measures
Contribute to increasing both animal welfare and productivity through data-driven and practical solutions
Collaborate closely with growers and cross-functional teams to develop the entire production chain
Participate in development projects and improvement initiatives within Live Operations, nationally and together with Scandi-partners
Ensure compliance with guidelines, legal requirements, and industry standards
Be responsible for sampling, including slaughterhouse and salmonella sampling, as well as sanitation and traceability work in connection with salmonella outbreaks
Be responsible for maintaining the company's animal welfare program, the Campylobacter program, and overall responsibility for disease control strategies
Share knowledge, educate, and support colleagues and growers through an accessible, generous, and feedback-oriented working style
Licensed veterinarian (EU / Sweden)
Experience with or a strong interest in poultry production, animal health, and preventive veterinary medicine
Good knowledge of relevant legislation regarding animal protection and food safety
Experience with animal welfare, audits, or certification systems is an asset
Further education in animal welfare, behavior, or welfare assessment is highly desirable
A clear drive to develop and improve animal welfare standards
