In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the operation, further development, and modernization of the organization's VDI platforms, with a focus on both Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and VMware Horizon (now Omnissa Horizon).

The work takes place in a complex environment with high demands for security, stability, and performance at one of Sweden's most critical societal actors.

Your Areas of Responsibility

• Responsible for the operation, development, and improvement of the organization's VDI platforms (Citrix and Horizon/Omnissa).
• Ensure that the platforms are secure, stable, and optimized.
• Participate in upgrades, patching, and technical change initiatives.
• Contribute to capacity planning, lifecycle management, and strategic development of VDI.
• Collaborate with teams within networking, storage, data center, and security.
• Act as a technical specialist within VDI and digital workplaces.

Tasks

• Operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Citrix and Horizon/Omnissa environments.
• Installation, configuration, and upgrading of VDI platforms and underlying infrastructure.
• Publication and optimization of applications and virtual desktops.
• Performance analysis and continuous improvement of user experience.
• Handling of incidents, problems, and changes.
• Backup, restoration, and work with high availability (HA/DR).
• Documentation of systems, architecture, and working methods.
• Automation and efficiency – preferably via scripting (e.g., PowerShell).

We are looking for you who have

• Experience with large VDI environments.
• Good knowledge within Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and/or VMware Horizon / Omnissa Horizon.
• Experience with access solutions such as Citrix ADC (NetScaler) or equivalent.
• Knowledge within profile solutions, policies, and application distribution.
• Experience with VMware vSphere or other hypervisors.
• Understanding of networking, storage, security, and on-prem/infrastructure environments.
• Experience with application packaging – an asset.
