Your Assignment
The position is a fixed-term employment (substitute) at 100% with a start date by agreement, but no later than 2026-08-10. The assignment runs until mid-January 2027. You will teach and mentor our students within the Construction and Civil Engineering program and, together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues, develop both the program and the subject. In addition to job-specific tasks, you have, like other teachers at the school, tasks such as a mentor, and together you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasium. We communicate primarily through Schoolsoft and we work in a Google environment through the sharing of digital documents, calendars, and plans.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who want to work as a vocational teacher in construction and civil engineering with a focus on building construction. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you lack a teaching license, you have the opportunity to apply for the position. The job duties include contact with the business community since a large part of the students' study time consists of work-based learning (WBL), and therefore good communication with employers is an asset.
We value your ability to meet the students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our values and our guiding words. Our students long to enter the working life, and your biggest task is to lead them there!
Help shape the future of vocational education!
Praktiska Gymnasium is the largest in Sweden within secondary vocational education. We strive to give our young people the best possible conditions to enter the workforce early. We know that a good vocational education results in a job directly after high school, but also a belief in the future. We take our social role very seriously, and our vision is to give our students the tools to help change the labor market for the better. Our vision is reflected in our values.
AMBITION means having high expectations of each other and our students. Through STRENGTH (KRAFT), we collaborate around every student regardless of our roles. PASSION (GLÖD) reflects our pride in the important social responsibility we have as vocational educators in Sweden.
A vocational education opens up opportunities to create your own life, which develops society as a whole. We want to contribute to social benefit in this way, for young people who have their sights set on a specific profession, but also for young people who do not yet have a clear plan for themselves. Our role is to show the way by inspiring and educating the workforce of the future. It is something that both society and our students benefit from.
We Offer
The health and well-being of our employees are important to us. At our schools, employees are therefore offered benefits such as a fitness allowance, parental salary, and occupational health services.
Furthermore, Praktiska Gymnasium also offers internal training for newly hired unlicensed teachers, and has an ongoing collaboration with various national universities that offer further training for teachers (VAL) to support our teachers in becoming licensed.
