The Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic with the Burn Center is a university clinic offering highly specialized care in hand surgery, plastic surgery, and burn care. Here, high-quality care is combined with intensive research and development in a modern and innovative environment. Our patients come from the entire Southeast Health Care Region, and we offer both acute and elective care. Since the orthopedic clinic at the hospital does not perform orthopedic hand surgery, this is also performed at our clinic. The hand surgery section is now seeking a dedicated, flexible, and driven resident physician for a one-year temporary position starting in May 2026.

Job Description

As a resident physician with us, you will work with a wide variety of tasks within hand surgery. Duties primarily include on-call duties but also outpatient clinic work, ward duties, and simpler hand surgical procedures. You will become part of a dynamic operation where you have the opportunity to grow in your professional role under the guidance of experienced specialists.

We place great importance on creating a safe and inclusive environment where you, as a resident physician, receive the support you need to develop in your role.

Work Team

Approximately twelve physicians work within the hand surgery operation at our clinic. We are a tightly knit team with an open working climate where questions and learning are central. We work closely with our operating room and outpatient team consisting of nurses, assistant nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. Together, we create a safe and developing work environment for both patients and employees.

About You

We are looking for someone who is curious, ambitious, and has a genuine interest in hand surgery.

You have:

• Swedish medical license.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language to be able to communicate unhindered with patients, relatives, and colleagues.

You have a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the team's work with the patient in focus.

We value personal qualities such as security, teamwork, and the ability to handle varying situations with calm and professionalism.

The position is a one-year temporary assignment (6+6 months) starting around May 4, 2026.

Before employment in a patient-facing role within Region Östergötland, you will be required to complete a health declaration.
