The Department of Otorhinolaryngology is seeking a Specialist Physician in Head and Neck Surgery. We are a university hospital department with three main missions: to provide specialized ENT care, to teach, and to conduct research. We treat patients from all over Östergötland and also offer highly specialized care to patients from the regions of Kalmar and Jönköping.

The department comprises approximately 220 employees and includes inpatient care in Linköping, outpatient clinics in both Linköping and Norrköping, audiology units in Linköping, Norrköping, and Motala, as well as speech therapy, an interpretation center, and administrative support. We have surgical operations at several venues in both Linköping and Norrköping.

We are one of the largest ENT departments in the country with extensive patient flows and high activity in education and research. The activities span a broad core section as well as specialized competence in ear surgery, tumor surgery, rhinology, phoniatrics, and hearing and balance disorders.

Job Description

You will work within the department's general section, responsible for: basic ENT examination and surgery, septum surgery, diverticulum surgery, and OSAS diagnostics and surgery. The work is varied and includes referral assessment (referrals for general ENT care and for skin changes), clinic work, ward work, consultant assignments, as well as planned and acute surgery in our 24/7 operations. Clinics, surgery, and consultant assignments are performed in both Linköping and Norrköping. You will also participate in radiology rounds and educational activities together with colleagues. The activities are conducted at both county and highly specialized levels, and you are given good opportunities to develop within quality work, teaching, and research.

About You

We are looking for you who are a specialist physician in ENT, have broad ENT competence, enjoy working in a team and value good collaboration, communicate well with patients, relatives, and colleagues, work in a structured manner, and take responsibility for planning and prioritizing your work.

It is an advantage if you have experience of research, educational, or development work, as well as surgery in soft tissue surgery, OSAS, and septum. We would like you to actively contribute to the development of the operations. Great importance is attached to personal qualities.
