As the clinic's scope of work has grown, we are now looking for a new team member for the Day Surgery unit in Linköping, which is part of the Centre for Surgery, Orthopaedics and Cancer Care (CKOC).

CKOC provides county-wide healthcare in Östergötland as well as highly specialized regional healthcare in the South-Eastern Healthcare Region. The mission also includes conducting and stimulating research, development, and education. Within CKOC, activities are carried out in orthopedics, surgery, urology, oncology, hematology, and respiratory medicine.

We are a day surgery operating unit whose hallmark is fast flows, and our main mission is to conduct efficient and professional day surgery within several different specialties. The majority of Östergötland's breast cancer patients are operated on here, and there is a long-standing successful collaboration with the breast unit. The mission is based on day surgery activities with outpatient patients, but there is also surgical activity where the patient is admitted to a ward post-operatively. After a few hours on our post-operative ward, the patient goes home or is transported to their care ward for continued treatment.

Our post-operative ward has five monitoring beds, and within the operating theatre, we have two operating rooms equipped with the latest technology. In addition, we operate on the 9th floor in the form of external anesthesia services for brachytherapy treatments, as well as in an operating room at the Hand and Plastic Surgery Clinic.

Job Description

As an anesthesia nurse at Day Surgery CKOC Linköping, you will be offered interesting and varied tasks with a focus on planned day surgery operations with high predictability.

The work involves pre-, peri-, and post-operative care of the unit's patients, where you are an important part of the patient flow for the operating department. Together with the team, you will handle many types of patients within breast surgery, orthopedics, hand and plastic surgery, oncology, and more. You will have a responsible and stimulating job where you get to participate in development work across the entire clinic.

The working group in the operating room consists of you as an anesthesia nurse, an operating room nurse, and a nursing assistant who, in close collaboration with the anesthesiologist and the surgeon, work as a team around the patient. With us, you will become part of an exciting and developing operation characterized by a wonderful atmosphere.

About You

You are a licensed specialist nurse in anesthesia with experience from an operating department; we prefer that you have experience from day surgery activities. If you have an interest in rotating to other operating arenas, that is also an advantage.

Since you work in constant dialogue with patients, relatives, colleagues, and other departments, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You also need to be able to handle various IT systems to perform daily healthcare work.

Application and Employment

We offer you an individually adapted introduction based on your previous experience and competence. The position is a permanent employment with a weekly working time of 40 hours/week, scheduled Monday to Friday. Some evening shifts occur.

Before employment in a patient-facing role within Region Östergötland, you will be required to complete a health declaration.
