About the workplace

At Ale Municipality, approximately 2,500 employees work together to deliver high-quality service with the residents' needs at the center. Become part of our team and contribute to making the municipality more accessible and digital.

We are a small unit where everyone has varied work where it is important to be able to see the benefit and the big picture for our users. Our tasks range from the digital workplace for the municipality's students and staff to managing the operation and maintenance of networks and servers. In addition, we contribute to the municipality's development of digital tools through development projects together with the operations.

Job responsibilities

Do you want to create digital solutions that make everyday life easier for people? We are looking for an engaged system developer with an interest in usability and UX for our IT unit. With us, you will have the opportunity to shape e-services that are truly used and appreciated by the residents of Ale and the municipality's employees.

The position is fixed-term for 14 months (but with the possibility of extension) and focuses on the development of our e-services with the user at the center. You will collaborate closely with operations and colleagues and have the opportunity to influence how our digital services are experienced.

Examples of job responsibilities:

• Develop and further develop e-services with a focus on usability
• Work with integrations via REST APIs
• Contribute ideas that improve the user experience and create value for residents

We are a smaller team where everyone helps each other – here you will get variety and the opportunity to see the big picture for our users.

• Plain JavaScript and web development
• Integrations with REST API
• Agile working method with a focus on users' needs

You will work with development, implementation, and management within your area. Here you work from start to finish together with operations and colleagues.

In our unit, we work together, which means that your tasks may also include other areas and collaboration with colleagues who develop other parts of the operations.

Qualifications

To complete the assignment, you need relevant education, knowledge, and experience in the field. We expect you to be able to work systematically in a project form and in collaboration with users.

We believe that you:

• have relevant education or equivalent experience in system development
• have a feel for UX and user-centered design
• enjoy working closely with users and colleagues to create the best possible solutions
• can work structured, preferably in a project form

Experience with e-services or public administration is an asset, but most importantly, you want to create services that work for people.
