Responsibilities

As a registered nurse with us, you will work in a clinic serving society's most vulnerable individuals, supporting them according to their needs. Your work may include vaccinations, counseling, testing, and coordinating with social workers, midwives, or other healthcare providers to motivate reduced substance use and facilitate continued care. You will participate in both primary and secondary preventive measures, such as infection prevention counseling, treatment of infections, and exchanging injection equipment. You will work in a team with various professional categories and refer patients to other healthcare services, dental care, social services, and civil society organizations. The role also involves collaboration with external actors and supporting the unit manager with certain administrative tasks.

About the Workplace

The Low-Threshold Clinic is part of Region Västmanland's "Nära vård" (Close Care) and is operated by the Adult Psychiatry department. It offers easily accessible basic healthcare for homeless individuals, people in social exclusion, and a needle exchange program for those who inject drugs. The operation is characterized by accessibility, a non-judgmental approach, and a supportive working method. The target group consists of adults aged 18 and over experiencing homelessness, vulnerability, or harmful substance use and addiction. In connection with visits, basic medical supplies, laboratory services, and certain medications are also provided based on medical need.

Qualifications

We are looking for a registered nurse, preferably with a few years of experience. Experience with the target group, collaboration, and knowledge of Cosmic, Heroma, and Agresso are considered assets. Good Swedish skills in both speech and writing are a requirement. We consider a Class B driver's license an advantage.

We are seeking a secure and empathetic nurse with a genuine interest in people. You must be able to maintain calm and prioritize even in stressful situations, be responsive, and collaborate well with various actors. We are looking for someone with a positive basic attitude who is willing to show engagement in change and development work. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and personal suitability.

Terms of Employment

Permanent position, full-time, daytime hours Mon-Fri.

Start date according to agreement.
