Responsibilities

At the Adult Psychiatric Clinic 1, you will work in a cheerful team with knowledgeable and experienced colleagues from various professional categories such as nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, doctors, and administrative staff. The work as a nurse in Adult Psychiatry is both exciting, stimulating, and varied.

Your tasks include supportive and caring conversations with patients with psychiatric issues. You assist in medication follow-ups, perform tests, and administer medication.

Additionally, telephone counseling and care planning are part of the job. You collaborate with colleagues, participate in treatment conferences, and cooperate with external organizations.

You will be part of a highly competent nursing group that supports each other, where everyone, together with other professional categories, strives to see the individual from a holistic perspective. The goal is to help patients find their own resources to increase well-being and enhance their quality of life.

About the workplace

The Adult Psychiatric Clinic 1 in Västerås is part of the specialist psychiatry in Region Västmanland and caters to patients with mental health issues requiring specialist care residing in Västerås, Surahammar, and Hallstahammar municipalities. We accept patients based on their birth date, days 1 - 10.

The division has been guided by the aim of creating a well-functioning care chain with good cooperation between emergency care, inpatient care, and outpatient care.

At the clinic, we work in two teams consisting of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, and administrative staff, totaling about 25 engaged and knowledgeable employees. Our teams are cross-professional and strive to provide our patients with good care with high quality and professional treatment.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse, preferably with further education in psychiatry, but not a requirement. It is advantageous if you have experience working in psychiatry in some form.

We place great importance on you being secure and stable in your professional role. You can take initiative and drive your own processes forward in a structured way. You have good problem-solving skills and easily adapt to new circumstances, seeing changes as opportunities. You work well with others, are a good listener, and communicative.

Employment conditions

Temporary position until 31/5 2027 with a possibility of extension. Start date according to agreement.

Clinic work during daytime Mon-Fri, we apply flexible hours.
