We are strengthening preschool children's health work by establishing a psychologist function

This is an opportunity for you who want to use your psychological expertise in children's early years and at the same time be part of shaping a new mission within the organization.

The position is placed within the Support and Development Unit where several professions collaborate to support and develop preschool operations.

Your tasks

You will contribute psychological expertise to the preschool children's health work, focusing on promoting and preventive measures. The work is primarily consultative and involves offering guidance and consultation to principals and educators regarding children's development and support in everyday life.

The assignment is directed towards preschool operations as a whole and means that you will meet various preschools based on needs. The role is new and under development, which gives you the opportunity to help develop methods, structures, and priorities within the assignment.

You will collaborate with other professionals within the Support and Development Unit and with the municipality's other psychologists. The role also includes collaboration with the region within the pilot project Early Collaboration in Early Childhood.

The assignment does not include psychological assessments or testing, but focuses on consultation, guidance, collaboration, and capacity-building measures.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a licensed psychologist with experience in guidance and consultative work. Since the work involves visits to several preschools, you need to have a B driver's license.

You thrive in a role where the frameworks are not fully established and where you can help develop methods over time. This means you need to be secure in your professional role, able to work independently, and make priorities based on the needs of the operations. You have an interest in working in a promoting and preventive manner at the individual, group, and organizational levels and are happy to share your expertise to strengthen the operations.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with preschool-aged children or if you have in-depth knowledge of children's early development.

You will have ample opportunity to help shape the assignment. As part of the Support and Development Unit, you will work closely with other competencies, such as special educators, developers, speech therapists, and language developers, and together you will provide important support for the entire preschool operation.

The role also includes an exchange of experiences in the form of networks with the municipality's psychologists and with external actors, including within the project Early Collaboration in Early Childhood.

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police's criminal record.
