Nexus is Uppsala Municipality's reception center for individuals over 18 who have been subjected to domestic violence and honor-based violence and oppression. Nexus also provides support to persons exposed to prostitution and human trafficking for sexual purposes. The unit engages in regulatory activities, including investigating support needs and granting various forms of interventions. Social workers at Nexus also perform interventions such as support counseling and group activities. Nexus employs 11 social workers, a unit manager, a team leader, and an administrator.

Description of Duties

Work at Nexus primarily involves providing support to individuals who have been subjected to violence by a close relative or exploited in prostitution or human trafficking for sexual purposes. In the role of a Social Worker at Nexus, you will be part of our reception center. This means you will answer our on-call telephone, receive acute visits, and make assessments regarding sheltered housing. You will be an important part of our work against honor-based violence within the framework of our county-wide Resource Center against Honor-Based Violence. Furthermore, you will participate in the unit's preventive and outreach work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in Social Work or another degree deemed equivalent by the employer. To succeed in this work, you need experience working with the target groups that Nexus serves.

We prefer candidates with training in structured threat and risk assessment, SARA:sv, PATRIARK, advanced university-level education in domestic violence, and/or advanced education in honor-based violence and oppression. Experience working in a reception function is considered an asset.

You are calm, stable, and composed even in pressured meetings and complex cases. You maintain focus on the right issues and act professionally in all situations. Furthermore, you work purposefully to achieve good results for the organization. Last but not least, you collaborate well with others, listen to different perspectives, and contribute to a constructive dialogue to find sustainable solutions.
