About the Workplace

The Library of the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts is a unit that, as of July 1, 2024, comprises the libraries of the Academy of Music and the Academy of Fine Arts/Theatre Academy.

The unit is organizationally placed under the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts administration.

Four employees work at the unit, providing library services to the faculty's staff and students.

The Library of the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts is seeking a Librarian. The position is full-time, with a start date of August 17, 2026, or by agreement. The employment is permanent. A probationary period may apply.

Responsibilities and Duties

We are looking for an engaged librarian with good communication and collaboration skills and a strong interest in pedagogical work. As we are a small unit, great flexibility in tasks is necessary. The work includes service and support primarily for students, teachers, and researchers at the three departments, standard library work, and work with our digital and print collections with special responsibility for e-media. Providing education-integrated support in information literacy to students at basic and advanced levels at the faculty is also part of the duties.

The duties also include information service at the two physical libraries.

Qualifications

For the position, the following is required:

• A degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent academic librarian education
• Good language skills in Swedish and English
• Experience working at college libraries, university libraries, special libraries, or equivalent

The Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts in Malmö is one of eight faculties within Lund University and consists of the Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy of Music, and the Academy of Theatre, as well as Inter Arts Center. The faculty offers bachelor's, master's, and master's programs in fine arts, music, and theatre, as well as a number of courses of varying scope. Doctoral education and research with an artistic focus and in music pedagogy are also conducted here.
