We are now looking for a school librarian for school area two with two schools; Alvikenskolan F-6 and Humleskolan grades 7-9.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The school library should have a clear pedagogical function whose main task is to collaborate with teachers to strengthen students' language abilities and digital competence and create a school library for all.

You will work to develop students' media and information literacy and digital competence, as well as activities to enhance students' reading engagement and reading ability. You will promote reading both in collaboration with school staff and independently.

You will plan, teach, and guide students both in the library and in classrooms. You will take an active part in the systematic quality work of the school area regarding strengthening students' language competence.

You will be responsible for the school library room and work to ensure that the library is a learning environment that is socially, pedagogically, and physically accessible for both schools. You will ensure that the school library is an active part of the school's values work and democratic mission.

Together with librarian colleagues, you will be part of a network for collegial learning.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who:

• have a degree in library and information science.
• have a strong commitment to children and youth and their learning.
• have a strong ambition to translate research and in-depth subject knowledge into effective school library practice.

We seek someone who primarily has a degree in library and information science or, alternatively, another relevant academic degree. Experience in promoting reading and working in school libraries is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who has a good ability to work collaboratively and build good relationships with both students and colleagues. You create conditions for learning to occur and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You also take initiative and responsibility for moving work forward whether you are working alone or with others. You contribute new ideas and perspectives and often see more than one possible solution in different situations.
