About the Department

The Technical Department consists of 15 employees with various specialties – stage masters, props masters, lighting masters, and sound technicians. We work closely together in production teams connected to the productions we create. About the Position

As a props master, your main task is to be responsible for props in the theatre's productions. You will act as the responsible props master in assigned productions and assist the production in preparation, execution, and follow-up. You will prep for and run performances, which requires precision and a certain level of stress resilience.

You work closely with the rest of the technical team, so it is important that you are good at collaborating and have social skills. You manage and assist independently and in a structured manner in the development of the organization's equipment and spaces.

I, who will hire you, am Jerker Pyron, and my role at the City Theatre is Technical Director. As your immediate supervisor, you will report to me, but in productions, you report to the producer and work closely with the director, set designer, actors, and other staff around the stage.

We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education in props or prop making, or at least 3 years of professional experience in theatre, opera, or film. You have knowledge of material properties and various manufacturing methods within props. The job requires you to be in good physical shape, and a B driver's license is necessary. You are used to taking significant personal responsibility in your assigned productions. At the theatre, we primarily communicate in Swedish, but English is also important for dealing with suppliers and manuals.

We would also like you to have a forklift license, but this is not a requirement. If you have experience in image processing or 3D printing, that would be great. Additionally, a broad technical foundation in theatre is a merit.

Helsingborg City Theatre was inaugurated in 1921 and is Sweden's oldest city theatre with a permanent ensemble. The theatre employs about 100 people each year. The theatre has three stages: Storan, which is one of Europe's most technically modern stages, accommodating up to 600 visitors, Lillan, and the Foyer stage, both of which can accommodate about 150 people.
