As a Librarian at Kristianstad University, you will be part of the Library and Higher Education Pedagogy Department. The department runs a broad operation providing pedagogical and academic support to students, teachers, and researchers in their learning, teaching, and research. The department consists of library staff, pedagogical developers, and ICT pedagogues. Together, we are 17 employees working to be a learning organization with a high service level and a good working climate.

Tasks

You will be part of the library's teaching group, which teaches and supervises students in information literacy and provides support to the university's researchers in systematic searches. Your main area of work is within health sciences. An important part of the role is to support students with reading disabilities with adapted course literature, such as audiobooks.

As a librarian, you will man the library's information desk together with colleagues, where you meet students, university employees, and the public. The work is varied, and you work both independently and together with colleagues. The employment also includes tasks commonly found in libraries.

Eligibility and Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in Library and Information Science. You have previous experience of library work and working with a library data system. The job requires very good knowledge of English and Swedish. Previous experience of teaching information literacy and supporting students with reading disabilities with adapted course literature is considered an asset.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, starts activities, and achieves results. You adapt to changing conditions and find solutions when the situation requires it. You collaborate well with others, are receptive, and actively contribute to common goals. You express yourself clearly in speech and ensure that messages get across. In your work, you are structured, plan and prioritize efficiently, and follow up on what you have started.

Other Information

The position is a temporary substitute role at 100% during the period 2026-06-01, at the latest until 2027-01-31. The location is in Kristianstad at Näsby with good bus connections and parking facilities.
