About the Community Planning Department

The Community Planning Department handles all issues related to urban planning. The department has five divisions: Planning Division, Environment and Building Division, MEX, Operational Support, and the Technical and Property Division. In total, we have just over 80 employees. You will belong to the Operations Unit, which is part of the Technical and Property Division. The unit's activities consist of managing the municipality's public places and properties, which includes streets, parks, squares, harbors, beaches, schools, preschools, and elderly care facilities.

Job Responsibilities

With us, you will become part of a supportive and engaged team that motivates and helps each other, creating a fantastic workplace together! Together, we develop and manage the municipality's public environments. You will play an important role in the continued development of Lomma Municipality. The work is both strategic and operational, with responsibility for ensuring that our facilities maintain high quality and function well for residents and visitors year-round.

Your main tasks include operational and maintenance planning of paved surfaces, stormwater management, and street lighting. The role of Street Engineer is dynamic and varied, involving close contact with the public, authorities, contractors, utility owners, and other units within the municipality. You will be the one ensuring alignment with our contractors regarding requirements, quality, and follow-up. Procurement of both consultants and contractors is a natural part of the position, where you also take financial responsibility for maintenance and investments, representing the municipality in the role of the client.

You also have a central function in our urban development and investment projects, where you assist as an expert in operations and management. This means that you contribute your competence in the design of new streets, reconstructions, and other municipal infrastructure, ensuring that long-term thinking and sustainability become an integral part of the projects from the start.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who is a Master of Science in Engineering or a Civil Engineer with a relevant specialization, or work experience that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of work experience in similar areas. Experience working within a municipality, knowledge of contract law, and the Public Procurement Act (LOU) are advantageous. Experience in contract management, preferably within the ABFF contract form, is also advantageous.

As a person, you are communicative, development-driven, and confident in your civil servant role. You need to be able to take initiative, have decision-making skills, and a strong sense of the principle of equality. You find it easy to collaborate while being able to work independently and take personal responsibility. To enjoy the role, you need to be outgoing, positive, and unpretentious. Since the work involves a lot of contact with the public and authorities, you must also be service-oriented and able to communicate in a trustworthy manner. You express yourself very well in speech and writing. A B-class driver's license is required.
