Description

The emergency department in Skövde has undergone a major transformation as we now have a new state-of-the-art facility in large, bright premises well-suited for the task! After the new construction, we can call ourselves one of Sweden's largest and most modern emergency departments with a potential flow of about 70,000 patients per year.

A new pediatric emergency unit has been established in the new facility with its own dedicated children's track! A new radiology unit is also available adjacent to the emergency department.

The emergency department in Skövde is one of the region's five trauma hospitals. We handle patients in acute conditions, many of whom are treated directly at the emergency department, while some require continued care or contact with the hospital's various clinics. We receive patients with healthcare needs in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, urology, infection, pediatrics, gynecology, ENT, and ophthalmology.

We are now looking for two nursing assistants for a one-year temporary position to meet the needs we face.

Job Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant in the emergency department, you will work with basic and specific nursing care for patients with acute illnesses and/or injuries requiring specialist healthcare. You will work closely with the patient where patient safety and preventive safety measures are a significant part of the work. You will prepare the patient for and assist doctors during various examinations.

You will work in a team with nurses and have close collaboration with the doctors in the department. Since improvement work is an important part of the emergency department's development, it is essential that you as a nursing assistant actively participate in the work. This way, you also have the opportunity to influence work methods, your work environment, and your personal development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is an experienced nursing assistant with an interest in care. You find it easy to build relationships and convey security to patients during brief encounters. You enjoy working in a team with other professional categories while being independent in your profession. You meet patients, relatives, and colleagues in a trustworthy and respectful manner and have tolerance for differences. The varying patient flow in the emergency department requires you to be able to adapt quickly and prioritize when needed. The role of a nursing assistant in the emergency department is significant, focusing on care and patient safety. With a positive attitude, you contribute to a good work climate.

As a new nursing assistant, you will receive a structured introduction. The work includes day, evening, and night shifts.
