Job Responsibilities

As an Environmental Investigator, you will support the Recycling business area and its waste facilities regarding environmental issues. A large part of the job is to assist salespeople and maintain customer contact regarding technical questions related to different types of waste such as excavated materials and combustible fractions. You will also conduct follow-ups on laws and permits, closely collaborating with the managers of the operations. The role includes informing and communicating both internally within the company and externally with various authorities.

The position also involves driving development issues and participating in and leading smaller projects in areas such as environmental technology, purification technology, and permit issues. In recent years, a significant focus has been on various water issues, but tasks related to soil contamination, classification, and material handling are also recurring in the role.

The position of Environmental Investigator is part of the Environmental and Investigation unit, which is a support unit within the Recycling business area. Currently, there are four Environmental Investigators in the unit who work broadly and support Renova's various treatment facilities, such as landfills, sorting facilities, and recycling centers in the areas of environment and environmental legislation.

Qualifications

• Higher education in environmental science, environmental engineering, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of environmental and waste legislation is important for the position.
• Relevant work experience in the environmental field is required.
• The job involves contacts with various authorities, so you must be able to communicate very well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
• Driving license B is required.
• Experience in the waste management sector and work with contaminated areas is a merit.

As a person, you have a positive outlook and find it easy to work both independently and in a team, with good communication skills. To thrive in the role, you are meticulous, analytical, and responsible. Other valued qualities include being customer-oriented and flexible. You are also structured and goal-oriented. Personal qualities are highly valued. Of course, you have a strong interest in environmental issues!
