At the Education Administration in Järfälla Municipality, around 3,100 employees work in one of our 39 preschools, 22 schools, gymnasium, adult education, and central administration. Our operations are characterized by our guiding principles: professionalism, collegiality, and development power. With courage and competence, we drive the operations forward, and we value mutual respect and understanding among colleagues. Together, we strive to make each other better, for we know that when we develop and continuously improve together, we move Järfälla forward.

The school social team was established in 2024 and is part of a larger initiative for increased collaboration between schools and social services in Järfälla Municipality. The team's mission is to work both consultatively and operationally to reduce school absenteeism among children and young people in Järfälla's primary schools. The school social team is centrally located with co-located staff from both the education administration and the social administration, totaling seven employees and two group leaders (one from each administration). Our workplaces are in the municipality's premises in central Jakobsberg, only about a 20-minute train ride from Stockholm city.

The team has quickly developed a well-functioning work model and has achieved very good results. To ensure that more children and young people receive the right help at the right time, we are now looking for a psychologist who, during a parental leave substitute for the school year 2026/2027, wants to become our colleague. With us, there is an opportunity to experience interdisciplinary teamwork at its best!

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a psychologist in the school social team, you work on behalf of the education administration. Together with your colleagues, you receive applications from schools that need support in student matters. A primary task is to conduct an in-depth mapping of what causes a student's school absenteeism, identify measures that increase school attendance, and lead the development of the case. Your assignment also includes initiating and developing collaboration, coordinating efforts from schools, healthcare, and social services, leading network meetings and staff meetings, and participating in SIP meetings. If necessary, the school social team has a developed collaboration model with social services' family therapists.

The employees of the education administration and social administration in the school social team have different roles and competencies. Therefore, you often work in pairs with one of the three school social workers from the social administration, whose task is to work with operational support measures directly to students and parents during the school social team's intervention period.

Part of your assignment involves contributing to the development of attendance-promoting work at the school and principal level. This may involve following up on attendance work at your contact schools, conducting assignment training at school units, or giving lectures for student health professionals.
