About the position

In our internal medicine department, we care for patients with nephrological and endocrinological diseases. We have both planned and acute admissions. Our nephrology focus is unique as we are the only department in Southern Stockholm that performs peritoneal dialysis.

Here, you will gain specialized competence in performing peritoneal dialysis manually and with machines. We have a close collaboration with Hemodialysis and maintain regular contact with relevant outpatient services to follow the patient's journey through care in the best possible way. Although it is a medical department, many of our patients require surgical interventions. This allows for broad knowledge in medicine, as well as surgery and orthopedics.

The goal of our work is to help and support individuals living with lifelong treatment and chronically ill patients to maintain or improve their quality of life. Our patient flow in endocrinology includes, among others, patients with newly diagnosed diabetes or diabetics with complications such as diabetic foot ulcers or ketoacidosis.

A cornerstone of our operations is working in teams together with patients and relatives to provide the best care with the patient in focus. We are characterized by a lack of prestige and have close collaboration between different health professions, such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and social workers. We have an inclusive work climate where we help each other move forward. We are all part of the patient’s care and work with nursing, medical treatments, investigations, and social planning.

As a nurse, you will have leadership responsibility in a team with nursing assistants and lead the care around the patient in Huddinge with day/evening and weekend shifts.

We are now offering a permanent position and a temporary position until the end of September 2027.

We are looking for someone who

  • takes responsibility for your tasks, structures your work approach, and drives your processes forward
  • works well with others, can relate to others, is attentive, and communicates and resolves conflicts constructively
  • sees the whole picture and considers a broader perspective
  • understands your role and acts in the best interest of the entire organization
  • applies a person-centered approach that promotes patients' ability to participate and have a say in their care

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Swedish nursing license
  • At least 1 year of experience in acute care.

Desirable:

  • Experience in nephrology, dialysis, or diabetes care.
