The Infection Control Unit has a coordination responsibility and a broad mandate with a large network of contacts with several community functions, including the public and the media. We work to prevent and reduce the spread of infectious diseases to and between people. The Infection Control Unit is located within the Health and Medical Care Administration, Region Örebro County.

Deputy Infection Control Physician for the Infection Control Unit

As a deputy infection control physician, you will work in a well-functioning team with infection control physicians, infection control nurses, administrators, and in close collaboration with healthcare hygiene, microbiology, infectious medicine, and primary care, as well as with municipalities and regional and national authorities. You will substitute for the regular infection control physician during their absence.

Your tasks include epidemiological surveillance, outbreak management, preparedness, preventive work and interventions, educational initiatives, and conveying knowledge and information to various groups. The assignment includes exercising the authority tasks described by the Infection Control Act and related legislation.

Licensed physician at the specialist/senior physician level in infectious medicine, clinical bacteriology, clinical virology, or with experience in the field. Scientific competence and experience in infection control work are meritorious.

You have the ability to lead and support, are development-oriented, strategic, and enjoy working in networks. We will place great importance on personal suitability for the role.
