Böleskolan's kitchen is a final preparation kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks to our approximately 100 students every day. We also prepare food for one of the preschool departments. Right now, we are also facing an exciting development journey: a completely new kitchen and a new dining room are being built, and the school is expanding to include both preschool and school with 3-4 departments. You will start in our existing kitchen – and then move with us into modern and fresh facilities.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about good service and enjoys working together with others. You have experience from kitchens and like to create good relationships, establish effective routines, and contribute to a positive atmosphere. You are flexible, curious, and see opportunities in change – just like us.

Adjacent to the new kitchen, a pleasant dining room is being built for both students and the oldest preschool children. For the youngest preschool children, food is sent out on a cart. The kitchen is staffed by two positions – one full-time and one part-time – where you rotate between tasks for a varied and developing everyday life.

In addition to the daily kitchen work, cleaning of the school's dining room is included. Today, the dining room is smaller, but as the school grows, we will have a larger and more modern dining room adapted for more students and preschool children.

Job Responsibilities

Your job responsibilities include final preparation and serving of the day's various lunch options, as well as preparing and serving breakfast and snacks in accordance with the Meal Service's offerings. Furthermore, it includes preparing a varied and seasonally adapted salad buffet, accompaniments to the food, as well as options adapted for children with special dietary needs. You are responsible for safe food handling, self-control, good hygiene, dishwashing, and cleaning in the kitchen and dining room. Additionally, it includes ordering food from the production kitchen and ordering goods via the municipality's e-commerce system; in addition to food and dairy products, also cleaning supplies, disposable materials, chemicals, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has experience working in a kitchen. You have restaurant education at the high school level or equivalent education that the employer finds suitable and/or documented experience as a chef or meal staff in a large kitchen or restaurant. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, for safe handling in a large kitchen. Good knowledge of data and the programs used in the work is an advantage, as is experience in cleaning. Kitchen work is a physically demanding and sometimes heavy job, thus requiring good physical condition.

We are looking for someone who finds it rewarding to meet people, you are cheerful and positive and aim to provide good service to our customers. You are flexible, responsible, and help where needed; you enjoy having a colleague to collaborate with. In daily work, there is dialogue with both educators and children; therefore, a good approach is significant.
