We are looking for qualified care assistants for summer temporary positions

We are seeking qualified care assistants for summer temporary positions who create security and contribute to ensuring that our elderly Stockholmers at Högdalen's care and nursing home have a meaningful and functioning everyday life.

We currently need summer substitutes for day/evening and night shifts in:

• department for individuals with somatic illnesses
• department for individuals with dementia
• short-term care department

To be considered, you need to be able to work full-time for at least six weeks during the summer. The work is scheduled for day, evening, or night shifts. There is an opportunity to start introduction and work already in the spring.

Welcome to us

Högdalen's care and nursing home is a municipal elderly care facility and part of Stockholm City's academic node in elderly care. Here, we actively work with development and knowledge exchange. The facility has a total of 140 apartments:

• 68 places for somatic care
• 50 places for individuals with dementia
• 18 short-term places
• 4 respite care places

Our work is based on a person-centered, rehabilitative, and palliative approach where the focus is on health, well-being, and quality of life.

You will be part of a cross-professional team where collaboration, quality, and commitment are in focus. We actively work with activities to create a meaningful everyday life for our residents. This can include walks, excursions, film screenings, games, movement, gymnastics, music, singing, and dancing. You will play an important role in creating these activities.

The facility is located near Högdalen subway station with good transport links and beautiful green areas.

Your role

As a care assistant, you are an important part of the team and contribute your expertise to the daily work. You support the residents in their everyday lives and create security through respectful interactions.

The work includes, among other things:

• person-centered care
• delegated health and medical tasks
• contact with relatives
• planning and implementing interventions based on the care plan
• support in daily activities
• documentation, follow-up, and evaluation

The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in the team.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• are a trained care assistant with a protected professional title
• have experience working in elderly care facilities
• have experience with night shifts in elderly care (for night positions)
• have worked with medication delegation
• can speak and write Swedish so that documentation and reporting functions

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• the documentation system Parasol
• dementia care and BPSD
• palliative working methods
• rehabilitative working methods

To succeed in the role, we see that you take responsibility for your tasks and focus on the residents. You are professional and secure in your interactions. You are good at collaborating with your surroundings. As a care assistant, you are expected to be part of the team and work in a structured manner.

Recruitment process

You apply by attaching your CV and answering a few selection questions. Attach your relevant education and work certificates when you register your application. Interviews are conducted continuously on-site but can also take place via digital meetings (Zoom). Prepare two references, of which at least one should be a salary-setting manager. Agreement on the work period, introduction, and salary is made with the responsible manager in the operation. We will request an extract from the criminal record. To be employed as a care assistant, a certificate of protected professional title is required. Stockholm City works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.

As part of Stockholm City, the administration offers preschool and leisure, care for the elderly and disabled, social services, preventive and security work, urban development, and park maintenance to our 105,000 Stockholmers living in the district.
