Your Mission

As an IT Security Specialist / Penetration Tester, you will belong to the network security unit within the cyber operations department. Here, we work to strengthen protection against advanced IT attacks on Sweden's most vulnerable operations, such as other authorities, organizations with security-sensitive operations, and critical infrastructure. We make a direct difference for Sweden's cyber defense, including by:

• Conducting IT security audits through penetration testing for external clients, for example, of entire infrastructures
• Compiling results into technical reports
• Participating in various forms of advisory work where you operate from an attacker's perspective to strengthen the technical protection of our clients
• Collaborating with national and international partners at a technical level
• Developing offensive and defensive tools, methods, and systems

The work often takes place in smaller teams assembled based on the competencies needed for each assignment, but there are also great opportunities for you to work undisturbed and focused on your task. You will have good opportunities for development in your role, including through training and participation in IT security conferences, and you are expected to continuously develop your own and the unit's competencies to stay ahead.

Travel within the country occurs as part of your assignment. International travel may also occur.

You Can

We are looking for someone who has:

• A technical education in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge acquired through other experience
• In-depth knowledge and experience in one or more relevant technical areas for the position, such as network technology, operating systems, system administration, intrusion detection, system development, web applications, hardware, or mobile devices
• Good ability to describe technical problems in a pedagogical way
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English

We consider it advantageous if you have:

• Several years of work experience in IT-related tasks
• Work experience in technical IT security audits/penetration testing
• Work experience in other IT security-related work, such as IT forensics, incident management, security monitoring
• Experience with offensive IT security tools

More Information

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. Before employment, you will undergo a security clearance in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in wartime.
