Summer Job as a Caregiver in Forensic Psychiatry

The Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic is a specialized unit within forensic psychiatry that cares for both women and men. The clinic also receives patients from the correctional system who are in need of psychiatric care and treatment. At the Forensic Psychiatry in Växjö, there are 12 different departments with various profiles.

The clinic's mission is to provide high-quality forensic psychiatric care and conduct risk assessments of individuals who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care by the courts. The goal is for patients to be transferred to their home region, another regional clinic, or the correctional system when they are finished with their treatment. Patients should be offered professional care based on science and proven experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We offer you an opportunity for independent and responsible work where you will meet many new colleagues. As a caregiver, you will be an important asset in your workplace, and your tasks will vary depending on which department you work in. You will primarily work in a team with other colleagues.

Your tasks:

• Build trust and security: Create and maintain professional relationships with patients through a low-arousal approach and understanding of individual needs.
• Participate in the care process: Contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care and treatment, as well as provide observations during team and care planning meetings.
• Motivate and support: Work with daily motivation and social training to strengthen patients' independence and follow the care plan.
• Perform daily routines: Be responsible for practical tasks in daily life, such as food handling and care tasks.
• Collaborate and be flexible: Work across departmental boundaries when necessary to contribute to the overall continuity of the service.

We would like you to be available to work extra as an hourly employee before the summer position starts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for trained caregivers or nursing assistants who want to make a difference this summer! Do you have another relevant education or are you a student in a related field? Then you are also warmly welcome to apply.

Even if you lack formal education, but have experience in psychiatry, care, or support, we would love to hear from you. Previous work or internships in psychiatry are advantageous.

To thrive with us, you need to master Swedish in both spoken and written form. We would like you to be able to work the entire summer and be flexible with working hours. As a person, you are service-oriented, calm, and attentive. We highly value your personal qualities.
