Lerum Municipality is looking for a Coordinator in Personal Assistance
Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic places with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing a period of intensive development with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality is working to ensure both good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.
Recently, Dagens Samhälle awarded Lerum the title of winner in the category of metropolitan municipalities (2025) - an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities in areas such as education, healthcare, economy, culture and leisure, attractiveness, business, and future factors like digitalization and civil preparedness. We are now a Super Municipality!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Functional Support area in Lerum Municipality is responsible for several services under LSS. This includes personal assistance, housing with special services, daily activities, short-term stays, escort services, and respite care at home.
Within the organization, several different functions work together to create quality, development, and good conditions in daily operations. Unit managers, coordinators, method developers, operational developers, and support educators collectively contribute to ensuring that the operations are characterized by structure, continuity, and quality. As a coordinator in personal assistance, you will play an important role in this work and collaborate closely with the manager, employees, and other functions within the functional support operations. You will work in a team with several skilled colleagues, where collaboration, support, and shared responsibility are important parts of everyday life.
The role is crucial for creating structure, continuity, and good collaboration in daily life. This is a position for you who are curious about an exciting assignment within Lerum Municipality and want to develop both as a person and in your career. For many, the position can also be a natural next step within municipal operations, for example for those currently working in an administrative or coordinating role and wish to further develop in a management-adjacent position.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a high school education in administration or other education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. You need to have good administrative skills, good computer proficiency, and be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is an advantage if you have experience working as a coordinator, administrator, planner, or in a similar role. Experience in staffing planning, scheduling, or administrative systems and documentation is also advantageous. Experience in personal assistance, LSS, or other care services is also meritorious.
To thrive in the role, you need to have good collaboration skills, communicate clearly, and have a good attitude when interacting with care recipients, employees, managers, and other functions. You need to understand the importance of quality in the service and how a professional and respectful approach contributes to safety, continuity, and good conditions for the care recipient.
The role requires you to have the ability to create good dialogue with employees while also being a support in the interaction between care recipients, staff, and management. You need to contribute to structure and coordination in daily life, focusing on ensuring that the operations maintain good quality and meet the requirements placed on the service.
As a person, you are structured, responsible, and proactive. You have the ability to create order, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and contribute to a functioning everyday life in the operations. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
