Media Technology is an interdisciplinary technical subject at the Department of Natural Sciences, Environment, and Technology. The subject has existed at Södertörn University since 2001 and is broadly oriented towards the design, construction, and analysis of digital media. Media Technology is the university's second largest educational subject and constitutes a dynamic and creative environment for both research and education. The research in the subject is multidisciplinary, combining technical and design exploration with social science and humanities perspectives. Our research is mainly conducted in three areas where we collaborate around the following themes: participatory and norm-critical design; design and creative practices; games and storytelling; media technology and learning.
