Do you want to work closely with operations while contributing to the development and improvement of the municipality's financial management?

As an economist, you will be a strategic partner to managers within the social services department. You will work closely with managers in an organization with significant social responsibility and complex financial conditions. You assist managers in making wise, fact-based decisions by providing analyses, monitoring operations, and contributing high-quality forecasts. In practice, this means that you work closely with the operations as a sounding board throughout the entire management process – from budgeting and implementation to follow-up and analysis.

You will work together with 6 economists and the central finance unit. We work closely with operations and move between different office environments as needed, which creates good opportunities for dialogue and a holistic view.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of economist, you are an important part of the municipality's financial work.

• Monitoring and analysis of operations and finances
• Forecasting work
• Budget process
• Year-end closing work

You will contribute to the development of the municipality's financial management. You will work closely with managers, create an understanding of financial relationships, and contribute to good foresight in planning and follow-up.

You will also participate in developing and improving routines and working methods within the finance unit, focusing on clarity, simplification, and quality. You are curious about how digital development can simplify, improve, and create smarter working methods in municipal operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in economics from a university or college

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in qualified financial work
• Experience as an economist in the public sector, preferably in areas such as healthcare and social services, LSS, or similar.
