The Municipal Executive Office is the administration of the municipal council. Here, about 100 employees work in finance and procurement, communication, IT, administration, business, tourism, HR and payroll, switchboard, security, and law.

ABOUT THE UNIT

Within the large organization is the small Unit for Budget and Analysis, part of the Department for Finance and Economics. It is a cheerful and motivated team of 10 controllers who provide support and guidance to the municipality's broad and complex operations.

The unit works systematically together to make a transition to a more strategic and data-driven approach. We leverage the power of both existing and upcoming digital tools. The unit also works to reduce vulnerability in delivery by ensuring dual competencies, routines, and knowledge transfer. Thus, you will come to a workplace where we do not stand still and wait for the future, but meet it together.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now seeking a controller focused on school and education for our future-oriented team within budget and analysis. If you are interested in the future of financial management, which is more data-driven and has a more forward-looking perspective, you should read on.

The unit operates on behalf of the municipal council and has a holistic view, both for the municipality as a whole and for the individual administrations. We will form a team around the assignment related to education, with the goal of creating a quality-assured delivery and strong support both to the operations and to each other. The willingness and ability to work closely with colleagues is crucial for your enjoyment.

The tasks include leading and coordinating the work of establishing budgets, forecasts, analyzing operations and finances, as well as investigative and developmental work. In addition to the function as operational support, you may also become involved in overarching responsibilities within the unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in economics from a university or college and at least two years of experience in qualified financial work. Experience in public administration finance is considered an asset. Experience in finance related to educational operations is particularly meritorious.

Furthermore, we see that you have very good knowledge of the Office suite and find it easy to use various IT tools. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of data flows, BI systems, and how to streamline and create value with the right IT support.

To succeed in your role, you need to prioritize between different tasks with a focus on goals and results, and you have a structured working method. You should be able to collaborate on assignments and tasks and contribute your personality to create the supportive work environment that allows us to cope with a periodically high pace.

Your analytical ability allows you to easily explain complex financial relationships in a pedagogical way. We also appreciate if you are a service-oriented problem solver who expresses yourself well both verbally and in writing. Furthermore, you have the ability to build on the very positive collaboration with operations that exists today through participation and relationships.
