Technical Manager

The Region Area West Properties Construction and Management carries out new and renovation projects for the premises of Västra Götaland Region.

We participate in feasibility studies for projects and are responsible for program and system documentation, design, and implementation. Our clients are primarily within healthcare, but also in the cultural sector, at folk high schools, agricultural high schools, and transport hubs, bus and train depots throughout Västra Götaland Region.

Job Description

As a technical manager, you are tasked with ensuring the technical function of the facilities based on the needs of the customer and owner within your area of responsibility. You contribute to ensuring that the delivery of projects and assignments works and that the projects are technically and economically sustainable, both at the management level and at the regional level. As a technical manager, you contribute to the preparation of materials for the region's decision-making process and ensure your unit's overall delivery. The work largely involves working strategically, long-term, and independently with responsibility for one or several systems in our property objects.

As a technical manager, you develop technical systems in one or more management objects as a whole, in symbiosis with other technologies, and ensure and are responsible for keeping management information updated. Examples of systems included in your area of responsibility are tele/data, fiber, fire alarms, burglary alarms, access control systems, and call systems.

Your tasks also include ensuring operational assignments and maintenance planning within your area. As a technical manager, you work as a specialist or at a strategic level where you are involved in developing and evaluating working methods.

Together with your manager and colleagues, you drive the unit's improvement work and contribute to constructive experience exchange with colleagues and the area. You actively participate in procurement groups for larger projects and in regional procurements such as framework agreements. Towards the rest of the organization, you are an expert in your area of responsibility and represent your area in questions that may extend beyond your own responsibility.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a university or civil engineer, or has other education and several years of experience in the field deemed equivalent. You have good experience with budget responsibility, economic management, and follow-up. We see that you have several years of experience in the property or construction industry with knowledge of technical management, customer relations, project management, and building and property development processes. You have negotiation experience and good business acumen, and possess a good ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

You are action-oriented and have a systematic approach with a good ability to make quick decisions and act on them. You have an influence and stability that fosters a trust-building environment.

If you have previous experience in defining goals and requirements in early project stages, as well as specifying the goals for the building and area based on overarching goals from the feasibility study, this is meritorious.
