Job Responsibilities
The Lindholmen–Linnéplatsen project is a large and complex infrastructure project that will build a nearly 3 km long tram tunnel in central Gothenburg, encompassing several technically and organizationally demanding elements such as; rock tunnel, sunken concrete tunnel in the Göta River, underground station, and redesigned Linnéplatsen.
As the coordinating project manager for Lindholmen – Linnéplatsen, you will have overall responsibility for leading and coordinating the various parts of the project and project managers through all phases of the project. The role requires strong collaboration and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the planning and permitting phase and implementation. You will also need to demonstrate experience in managing time and costs in large, complex projects.
You will play a central role in dialogue with authorities, various departments of Gothenburg City, contractors, consulting organizations, and other external stakeholders, while actively contributing to building an effective project organization with a strong project culture. To succeed in this role, solid leadership experience and the ability to handle complex issues in an environment with many dependencies and high demands for quality, time, and cost are required.
As a project manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring:
- coordination between railway plans, detailed plans, environmental permits, and environmental impact assessments
- that the project is carried out in accordance with established requirements and quality levels
- that coordination with relevant actors, such as the city planning administration, County Administrative Board, and Gothenburg Port, occurs continuously throughout all phases of the project
In your role as project manager, you will be part of the Brunnsbo-Linné via Lindholmen program, which consists of about 10 employees in the Large Projects department within the Gothenburg City Planning Administration. The department is responsible for planning and implementing complex and strategically significant programs and projects for Gothenburg.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of a university degree in infrastructure, urban development, or similar.
- At least 10 years of experience working as a project manager, project or site manager in infrastructure or urban development projects, with at least 4 years in large or complex projects where you have led other project managers.
- Competence in detailed planning, railway planning, and environmental permits is an advantage, as well as previous experience from municipal administration or municipal companies.
We are looking for a driven and clear project manager with the ability to create progress in projects through engagement and structure. As a person, you are communicative, attentive, and solution-focused. You build trust through dialogue and have an easy time creating good relationships.
You are analytical and structured, with a good ability to see the big picture and break down complex issues into manageable parts. With your solution-oriented approach, you take initiative and find ways forward even when circumstances change. You express yourself very well in both spoken and written Swedish.
Do you want to go to work knowing that you are making a real difference? Here you will have the opportunity to contribute to one of the city's most significant development assignments while also having great opportunities to develop in your professional role.
Conditions
Applications are processed continuously, and interviews may take place before the application deadline.
Before a possible interview, you will need to present a passport/national ID/certificate of residence issued by the Tax Agency, and possibly proof of residence permit if you have citizenship outside the EU/EEA. This is to ensure your identity and confirm that you have the right to work in Sweden. You may also be asked to provide your degree certificate if this is a requirement for the position.
We want the Planning Administration to be characterized by openness and respect for differences, and we believe that diversity contributes to the development of our operations.
To ensure the quality of the recruitment process, meet the requirements of GDPR, and facilitate good communication with our applicants, we ask you to submit your application digitally and not via email or letter.
We kindly but firmly decline direct contact from staffing, candidate search, and recruitment companies, as well as the sale of additional advertisements.
About Us
Every day throughout the year, the Planning Administration plays a central role in Gothenburg's growth and development in new residential areas, parks, squares, road and tram lines, bridges, and tunnels, while creating conditions for future housing and business as landowners. The administration also works to acquire and manage housing for households that have difficulty arranging their own accommodation, while actively working to end homelessness in Gothenburg by 2028. The Planning Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City.
Together, we work to create conditions for a well-functioning infrastructure, housing, and premises of quality, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.
