Assistant Nurse for Women's Healthcare in Gävle

The Women's Healthcare in Gävle consists of maternity services, inpatient care, and outpatient care. Here, nurses, midwives, assistant nurses, doctors, and medical secretaries work together. Outpatient care includes gynecological specialist care, day care, cancer care for gynecological cancer, abortion clinic, fertility clinic, ultrasound clinic, and specialist maternity care. In inpatient care, women with gynecological issues, gynecological cancer, and newly delivered mothers with their newborns are cared for.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The gynecological clinic conducts outpatient operations for specialist care in gynecology. With us, you will work with a variety of tasks.

As an assistant nurse with us, you will among other things:

• assist doctors/midwives in the examination room during appointments
• assist doctors during minor procedures and various types of treatments
• perform medical checks such as blood pressure, pulse, saturation, venous and capillary sampling, and cultures.

Information about the title Assistant Nurse

As of July 1, 2023, the title assistant nurse became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title assistant nurse within healthcare and social services. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but under a different title than assistant nurse. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted.
