Pediatric and Adolescent Healthcare (BUS) in Gävleborg is part of the region's specialist healthcare. BUS operates outpatient services in Gävle, Bollnäs, and Hudiksvall, as well as inpatient departments focused on general pediatrics and neonatal care in Gävle and Hudiksvall. In the children's department, we have 11 beds and work with children and adolescents aged 0-17 years. We care for children in the specialties of pediatric medicine, surgery, orthopedics, ear-nose-throat, and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP). We also have a close collaboration with the pediatric section at the emergency department and the children's clinic regarding day care and specialized home healthcare for children.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, you will work in pairs with another nurse or nursing assistant, where you will be responsible for rounds, educational and medical preparation work, treatment, sampling, and care planning. We work with NOBAB standards and equitable care as guiding principles.

As a nurse/pediatric nurse with us, you will among other things work with:

• patient responsibility for our pediatric medicine, surgical, orthopedic, ENT, and BUP patients both acutely and planned
• ensuring that our children and adolescents receive good care
• supporting parents so that they feel secure with the care we provide.

QUALIFICATIONS

The work is varied, which requires flexibility. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly change both perspectives and approaches as needed.

You collaborate well with others and are attentive in your communication. In meetings with patients and colleagues, you instill calmness, are observant, and show engagement as well as a willingness to help and find solutions.

In the role of nurse/pediatric nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare
• be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience in pediatric and adolescent healthcare.
