About our open position

We are now looking for a department head/nutrition chef for all patient meal production for Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS). You will be the department head for a production kitchen and responsible for deliveries to Falköping and Lidköping hospitals. The work includes responsibility for operations, staff, and finances.

Your personnel responsibility includes a unit manager and additional staff working with various functions in the kitchen. Together, you will drive the development of the production kitchen forward with associated equipment and investments. We are facing an upcoming renovation of the kitchen, which requires knowledge of kitchen and production processes. The work also includes streamlining operations through digitization regarding meals, flows, and working methods, hence it is important to have an interest in these issues. Your role as department head may also involve taking responsibility for other region-wide assignments to develop the overall area of Meals.

You will have good support in your work from your managerial colleagues, process leaders, administrators, staff, and other employees. You will be part of the Meals area's management team where we passionately develop the meal operations for the entire Västra Götaland Region. The work as a department head also means collaborating with hospitals to develop and cooperate on dietary issues that concern operations. Here you will contribute to our work with patient safety, sustainability, and good service!

Your placement is at SkaS in Skövde.

About us

Within the department, there are about 40 employees working to provide patients at SkaS with good and nutritious meals. We prepare food from scratch and distribute it to departments with tray delivery. The kitchen also delivers food and catering to the hospitals. We actively work to reduce the climate impact of our meals through, for example, reduced food waste and CO2 reduction.

About you

You have a university degree in nutrition or a related field. Alternatively, you have post-secondary education in the field combined with managerial experience.

You have managerial experience and have been responsible for staff, finances, and operations in a large kitchen or larger restaurant kitchen previously. It is an advantage if you have prior experience/insights regarding the renovation of large kitchen environments.

You are confident and clear in your leadership. You contribute to our meal operations having a good service delivery through your ability to:

• Keep the whole department together and work with strategic issues and development
• Be communicative, clear, and informative in both verbal and written contexts
• Create good relationships with employees and partners
• See new opportunities, set goals, and follow up
• Create an inviting meal experience with safe food hygiene

About the recruitment process
