Café Staff Wanted at Café Stallgården
Jönköping Municipality is a large employer with hundreds of different job roles. We are growing in line with the development of the municipality with more residents, more housing, and a greater range of services. We are always on the lookout for new talent - employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.
Are you a service professional who is passionate about homemade delicious pastries and the wonderful interaction with other people? Do you thrive in a vibrant environment where you can contribute to a delightful coffee break for our residents? Then we have a part-time job for you!
Your New Job
It is soon time to open Café Stallgården, and we are looking for engaged and social staff for this year's season.
Our newly renovated café is located in Jönköping's most beautiful rose garden by Rosenlund Manor, overlooking Lake Vättern with the scent of roses just outside the door. We opened in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a highly appreciated and well-visited summer café. In a unique and historic environment, we serve waffles, ice cream, and homemade pastries to both new and returning guests.
With us, you will be part of a dedicated team with good cohesion and an open atmosphere, where you will have the opportunity to influence and develop in your professional role. You will belong to a larger staff group with colleagues working at Rosenlund Manor, Café Stallgården, Kaffeteket, and Café Hoven, with close and good cooperation between the operations. The Service Management department organizes well-attended events every year, such as Christmas markets, stand-up comedy, and drive-in weddings. During the summer, the area offers free music events, guided tours, and walking theater.
We are now looking for flexible and positive individuals who are passionate about going the extra mile for our guests. You may have another occupation, such as school or retirement, but wish to combine this with a fun and stimulating summer job.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Customer contact
- Cash handling
- Dishwashing
- Cleaning
- Food handling
- Baking and preparing sandwiches
- Mentoring young people
Every summer, we employ around 50 summer workers and interns in the café operations. A central and important part of the role is to mentor and support these young people in their daily work and ensure that the café operations run smoothly according to our routines and quality standards. New summer workers will join throughout the summer, making training and orientation a continuous and significant part of the assignment. You are responsible for ensuring that new employees have a safe start, clear instructions, and the right conditions to succeed in their work.
We also want you to work with good economic and responsible planning and management to reduce food waste. You are expected to follow hygiene procedures and have knowledge of food handling.
Café Stallgården is open on weekends from May to September and every day during the June-August period. We expect you to be available throughout this period.
