Your role

As a nursing assistant/caregiver, you participate in daily care based on a person-centered approach. You also have an important function in contributing to the facility's Sami focus by highlighting and preserving Sami culture, identity, and traditions in everyday life.

This may involve planning and conducting group activities such as shared meals, reading aloud, and conversations about memories and traditions. You collaborate with activity coordinators and management and contribute knowledge-enhancing efforts for both the elderly and employees.

You work Monday to Friday mainly during the day, but working hours may vary based on the needs of the organization. The position begins with a thorough introduction together with our activity coordinator to give you a good foundation in the role.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for you who meet the following requirements:

  • nursing assistant or caregiver with solid experience in elderly care
  • knowledge of Sami culture
  • interest in conveying Sami culture to employees and the elderly
  • very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • a background or roots in Sápmi
  • specialist nursing assistant education in geriatrics or dementia
  • knowledge of any of the Sami languages.

To succeed in this role, you are structured and have the ability to plan, implement, and follow up on activities independently. You are engaged and want to contribute to the development of the Sami focus in the organization, with respect for Sami culture, identity, and language. You are confident in your professional role, take initiative, and are happy to share your knowledge to strengthen both the organization and colleagues' competence.

You easily build trusting relationships and meet the elderly, relatives, and colleagues with sensitivity and empathy. Furthermore, you have a cultural awareness that permeates your working method. The role also requires good communication skills and the ability to adapt your communication based on the individual's needs and circumstances.

In this recruitment, we place great emphasis on the above competencies, personal suitability, and commitment to the position.

Other

To strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role, you do not need to attach a personal letter. In assessing your application, we will only base our decision on your CV and a number of questions you will answer when applying for the position. We wish for you to respond concretely and succinctly to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV.

Stockholm City works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.

To work with the elderly and people with disabilities in their homes in Stockholm City, you must provide an extract from the criminal record. The extract must not be older than 6 months from the date of issue.
