Description
The Center for Psychiatric Research (CPF) is a collaborative organization between the Stockholm County Healthcare Services (SLSO) and the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institute (KI).
CPF is tasked with driving and developing research, teaching, and development within clinical psychiatry in the Stockholm Region. We currently have about 300 employees distributed between SLSO and KI.
CPF operates the Support Line for players and relatives, which is funded by the Public Health Agency. The Support Line's task is to offer support and advice to individuals with gambling problems and their relatives via phone and web.
The Support Line is open on weekdays and staffed by about 10 people. We are located at Norra Stationsgatan 69.
We are now looking for an advisor for the Support Line for players and relatives. The position is a fixed-term full-time employment for 12 months with a start date as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
As an advisor, your main task will be to provide individual support to players and relatives via phone and chat. The counseling is based on Motivational Interviewing (MI) with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The work also involves evening shifts on certain days, until 7:00 PM.
The position also includes simpler administrative tasks that support the operation, such as sending out information, compiling data, managing orders, documenting, and producing various types of summaries of collected material. The role may also involve representing the Support Line at events and external functions.
Your employment begins with theoretical and practical training for the role of advisor at the Support Line.
Qualifications
A suitable background includes studies and/or work experience in psychology, health sciences, social work, public health sciences, behavioral sciences, or a similar relevant field. You must have excellent knowledge of Swedish and English. Documented experience in MI and/or CBT and experience in conversing with people in difficult or vulnerable situations is advantageous.
You have experience working with various types of IT systems and the ability to oversee multiple communication channels simultaneously.

You are empathetic and attentive, with the ability to adapt to people's various needs and situations. You believe in people's inherent capacity for change and have the ability to support and motivate them to take the next step to promote change and personal responsibility.

Conditions
Fixed-term employment.

- background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
