We are now looking for a school psychologist

We are looking for a school psychologist to join our psychology group consisting of 13 members. The group is characterized by professionalism and stability, as well as a friendly and supportive climate. You will be employed within the central Child and Student Health services but will primarily work at two different schools within Nacka Municipality. In your daily work, your closest colleagues will be the other members of the schools' student health teams. You will have the opportunity to contact the psychology group as soon as a need arises, and we meet a couple of times a month for regular meetings.

Your mission

As a school psychologist, you will work with promoting, preventing, and remedial measures to create good conditions for learning, development, and health. The work takes place at the individual, group, and school unit levels. You will belong to the student health team at the schools, which also includes school leaders, school nurses, special educators, and school social workers.

You will assist the school with psychological expertise, with the overarching goal that all students achieve their learning objectives. You will collaborate and cooperate with staff, students, guardians, and other stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Participation in the schools' student health team where you provide the psychological perspective
  • Supervision and consultation for school staff
  • Training and professional development initiatives aimed at school staff
  • Support for school leaders and student health teams regarding school development issues
  • Observation and mapping of student groups and learning environments
  • Advice and referral to guardians
  • Assessment and investigation of individual students as well as diagnosing intellectual disabilities.

Your experience

For this position, you are required to have:

  • licensure as a psychologist
  • interest in working with supervision and training directed at educational staff
  • good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • experience working as a psychologist
  • experience in psychological work with children and/or parents
  • experience supervising educational staff
  • experience conducting courses and lectures
  • experience conducting cognitive assessments and diagnosing intellectual disabilities
  • experience working in schools.

Is this you?

To succeed as a school psychologist, you need to be a stable, professional, and trustworthy person who has both the interest and ability to collaborate, cooperate, communicate, and build good relationships with students, guardians, school staff, and external stakeholders. You value teamwork and the knowledge of different professions. As the sole psychologist at the school, it is important that you can independently manage, structure, and take responsibility for your time and tasks. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work clearly and effectively. You analyze the school's development needs, take your own initiatives for interventions, and collaborate with other professionals in planning and executing these. You can simultaneously handle various tasks, working methods, and situations and adapt to changing circumstances – always with the best interests and needs of the organization and students in focus. We place great importance on personal suitability.
