Company Description

The mission of Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB (SKB) is to manage the radioactive waste from Swedish nuclear power plants safely and efficiently. With world-leading technology and care for people, the environment, and society, we are building opportunities for fossil-free electricity production.

Today, around 500 people are employed at SKB. We have extensive collaboration with experts and contractors outside the company.

SKB's headquarters is located in Arenastaden in Solna. We also have offices in Oskarshamn and Forsmark in Östhammar municipality, where we have facilities and conduct various activities in preparation for the construction of a final repository for spent nuclear fuel.

About the Role

Build Opportunities for the Future with Us

You and your colleagues will contribute to the safe and efficient management of Swedish radioactive waste. With world-leading technology and care for people, the environment, and society, we are building opportunities for fossil-free electricity production.

SKB is looking for a structured and committed electrical maintenance engineer for the interim storage facility Clab in Oskarshamn.

Where You Will Work

The Operations and Maintenance Department is responsible for the operation of SKB's nuclear facilities. One of the facilities, the central interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel, Clab, is located 30 kilometers north of Oskarshamn. The facility's main task is to manage and store spent nuclear fuel from Swedish nuclear power plants.

The maintenance unit at Clab consists of about 30 employees working in analysis, electrical, instrumentation, automation, construction, and mechanics.

The unit faces exciting challenges, and you will have the opportunity to help shape how the maintenance operations develop as SKB builds new facilities. By participating in our projects, you contribute to the development of the operations and the long-term safety, reliability, and modernization of the facilities.

Working in projects is stimulating and educational, as it often involves working with advanced technology, complex problem-solving, and new questions that enhance your technical skills and broaden your experience.

What You Will Do

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining assigned system and component functions to ensure the operational availability of the facility's electrical and automation equipment.

Your tasks will include:

  • planning, preparing, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance
  • documenting and following up on completed work to ensure quality and continuous improvements
  • performing administrative tasks in maintenance systems and document management systems
  • being a resource in projects and facility changes
  • participating in contract work with suppliers and driving technical issues within your area of responsibility

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a university degree in electrical engineering, or a high school education focused on electricity combined with relevant work experience. If you have acquired knowledge equivalent to these educational paths, we value that equally highly.

Experience in electrical maintenance work within nuclear operations or process industry—preferably with a focus on electricity and automation—is advantageous. This gives you an edge, but the most important thing is that you have the willingness to develop and take responsibility.

Your area of responsibility will be adapted based on your background and experience, allowing you to grow into the role at a pace that suits you and the organization.

Since the position involves close contact, collaboration, and dialogue with both colleagues and external parties, you need to have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

A valid driver's license (B) and access to a car are required.
