Technical Purchasing Assistant for Growing Industrial Company

Do you have the drive to create structure in a changing environment? We are looking for a technically interested person who wants to support the purchasing team at a growing industrial company. Here, you will focus on securing deliveries and driving processes forward – from placing orders to chasing suppliers. We are looking for someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and be the proactive force in a developing organization.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The company specializes in the design and manufacturing of advanced industrial equipment. They provide comprehensive solutions to customers worldwide, focusing on high technical complexity in areas such as steel, electricity, and hydraulics. The business is characterized by global project flows and a strong drive to create robust technical solutions for demanding environments.

You will be part of an international team of 12 people where you will play a central role in keeping the wheels of projects turning. As the company's internal systems and processes are currently in an intensive development phase, extra engagement is required to ensure that orders are registered correctly and that delivery times are met.

This is not a purely administrative role but rather a miniature operational project management function. You will work closely with the design department and act as a bridge between them and our external suppliers. Once the design is complete, it will be your responsibility to take over: you will ensure that drawings are sent, orders are placed correctly, and that materials are actually moving towards the warehouse. You will be the one maintaining contact, asking questions, and chasing answers when deliveries are delayed. As workflows are currently being streamlined, you will play an important role in contributing structure, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks

  • Operational Purchasing Support: Place purchase orders based on input from the design department, manage invoice controls, and ensure that all documentation (such as certificates and specifications) is registered correctly in the company's systems.
  • Supplier Follow-Up and Expediting: Maintain close communication with suppliers to monitor delivery status, chase progress, and ensure that materials and components are delivered according to set schedules.
  • Project Coordination and Communication: Act as a bridge between design and production. Once drawings are completed, the role is responsible for ensuring they reach the supplier, as well as following up on deviations and managing complaints to ensure project progress.
  • Process Development: Assist the purchasing department in administrative tasks and actively contribute to streamlining workflows to meet the company's project peaks while maintaining quality.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Has a completed post-secondary education in purchasing or industrial economics
  • Possesses a good understanding of technical drawings and specifications
  • Has very good system knowledge, demonstrated by having worked in several different systems in previous roles
  • Has practical experience in purchasing technical components from previous work experience
  • Is fluent in both Swedish and English as both languages are used in daily work considering the international team

It is a merit if you have:

  • Experience in technical documentation
  • Basic experience in manufacturing processes
  • Basic material knowledge that facilitates communication with suppliers
